RYOZO BAND has announced their long-awaited new release!
Having attracted attention from across the board for their previous album “Pleasure” and a remix by French beatmaker Lex (de Kalhex), the band will be releasing their first release of 2026: a two-track single, available digitally and as a 7-inch.
The pre-release track, “Quiet Fog,” is a mid-tempo track featuring an impressive, powerful horn ensemble, and the saxophone solo inserted midway through is a stunning listen. It’s a track that showcases the maturity of the band’s groove and ensemble.
“Fugitive,” available simultaneously with the 7-inch, is a cover of a classic song by legendary Jamaican ska band The Skatalites, a track well-known to those in the know. While paying homage to the original, it has been reimagined with RYOZO BAND’s signature fast-paced, dynamic, up-tempo arrangement. Their energetic yet refined sound is sure to create a buzz at live shows.
RYOZO BAND is a group of talented musicians highly acclaimed in their respective genres, centered around Ryozo Obayashi (SANABAGUN.), including drummer Masaki Nagata (Zainichi FUNK), saxophonist Takehide Hashimoto “KIDS” (Zainichi FUNK), guitarist Tetta Odate (SAHAS), keyboardist Yusei Takahashi (Setagaya Trio, Hino Terumasa Quintet), percussionist Ryotaro Miyasaka (Orisaka Yuta Ensemble), and trumpeter Kyotaro Hori (ACO, TAMTAM). The ensemble, which combines individual backgrounds, is full of depth and dynamism, elevating elements of ska and jazz to a modern level.
This release, filled with passion and love for music, is fitting for the start of 2026. It demonstrates RYOZO BAND’s evolution to the next stage.

前作「Pleasure」や、フランスのビートメイカー Lex（de Kalhex）によるリミックスなどで多方面から注目を集めてきた彼らが、2026年最初のリリースとして配信と7インチで2曲入りシングルをリリースする。
先行配信曲「Quiet Fog」は、ミドルテンポながら力強いホーンアンサンブルが印象的で、途中に挿入されるサックスソロは圧巻の聴き応え。バンドのグルーヴとアンサンブルの成熟を感じさせる一曲となっている。
7インチと同時配信される「Fugitive」はジャマイカの伝説的スカバンド The Skatalites（ザ・スカタライツ） の知る人ぞ知る名曲カバーを収録。オリジナルへのリスペクトを込めつつも、RYOZO BANDらしい疾走感と躍動感に満ちたアップテンポなアレンジで再構築。エネルギッシュでありながら洗練されたサウンドは、ライブでも大きな盛り上がりを生みそうだ。
RYOZO BANDは、大林亮三（SANABAGUN.）を中心に、ドラムの永田真毅（在日FUNK）、サックスの橋本“KIDS”剛秀（在日FUNK）、ギターには大舘哲太（SAHAS）、キーボードは高橋佑成（世田谷トリオ、日野皓正クインテット）、パーカッションには宮坂遼太郎（折坂悠太 合奏）、そしてトランペットでは堀京太郎（ACO、TAMTAM）という、各ジャンルで高い評価を受ける実力派ミュージシャンが集結。個々のバックグラウンドが融合したアンサンブルは、深みと躍動感に満ち、スカやジャズの要素を現代的に昇華させている。
2026年の幕開けにふさわしい、情熱と音楽愛に満ちたリリース。RYOZO BANDがさらに次のステージへと進化していることを実感させる内容となっている。
